Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-09-17

1. Scope and Operator

This is a draft privacy policy for the Hangul Dot app and official website. The operator is WHITE, a sole proprietorship represented by Sejin Kim. Operator and contact details are provided below.

2. Information We Process and Why

  • Learning progress, completion status, study time: stored on your device to let you continue learning and to display rewards.
  • Language, volume, and guide-display settings: stored on your device to keep your usage environment.
  • Card name and message: content you enter is stored on your device to display on the card. Please don't enter unnecessary real names or sensitive information.
  • Customer inquiries: we use your email address, inquiry content, and app/device information you voluntarily provide to respond and resolve issues. Contact: hanguldot@gmail.com. General inquiry records are retained for 1 year after the inquiry is resolved, then deleted. Records that must be retained under applicable law are kept for the legally required period.

3. External Transfer, Outsourcing, and Cross-Border Transfer

The app code we have reviewed so far stores study records and card text in local storage. The final providers, information processed, countries, purposes, and periods for payment, analytics, hosting, and email services must be specified after reviewing the launch configuration. RevenueCat payments are planned but not yet described as currently operating. This document alone does not establish that 'no information is collected.'

4. Saving and Sharing Cards

If you choose to share, the card image may be sent to the external app you select. Saved or shared images may include the name or text you entered. Copies left in external apps or your photo library must be managed and deleted separately, within those services.

5. Website and Cookies

We will confirm and finalize the collected items and retention periods for the website's hosting, access logs, cookies, analytics tools, and inquiry-handling services. This policy page itself does not add an inquiry submission form or analytics script.

6. Retention Period and Disposal

Data on your device may remain until you delete the app’s data. It may be restored from an operating-system backup, so manage your backups separately. General inquiry records are retained for 1 year after the inquiry is resolved, then deleted. Records that must be retained under applicable law are kept for the legally required period.

7. User Rights and Deletion

Users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, withdrawal of consent, and other rights under applicable law. Send requests to hanguldot@gmail.com; we will process them after the minimum identity verification needed. See the Data Deletion page for how to remove information on your device.

8. Children and Guardians

Hangul Dot is primarily intended for teenage and adult beginners aged 13 and over, not children under 13. Local protections for minors may apply. Do not submit personal information without guardian consent where that consent is required. Guardians who believe a child has submitted information may request deletion at hanguldot@gmail.com.

9. Safeguards, Changes, and Inquiries

We will confirm and document the access controls, transmission protections, and disposal measures actually applied in the production environment. Any significant change will be announced along with its effective date. Send privacy inquiries to hanguldot@gmail.com.
